Brief
In early 2022, I was approached by Tom Adams to record and mix his new Arts Council England funded audio series, Headphone Story.
Delivery
As recordist on ‘Nit Nurse’ I worked with Tom and our Director, Kyla Goodey, to capture the piece–in a manner that celebrated the space we were recording in, The Museum of Cornish Life, in Helston–while retaining a sense of liveness.
Subject position is really important to me when working binaurally, and I think it is one that we worked hard to get right across Headphone Story. Who is the listener? What is their journey? This was particularly important.
I mixed and mastered the three episodes in Season One, working with Tom and the three directors (Kyla, Lilian Henley, and Laura Mugridge, as well as our Producer, Karen Pirie) to create three distinct and playful audio stories.
